Where was it filmed?
What are 'One Foot In The Grave's locations?
shareMost of The Outdoor scenes are filmed down in Dorset. You can tell this in many of the Episodes such as the one where they visit friends in their seaside hotel(they drive down the seafront), Also when there are scenes in Hospital ( It is Christchurch Hospital), and also just general outdoor which filmed in Bournemouth and Surrounding Locations.
Hope This has helped.
I Know this due to livibng down here.
That's right, I come from Bournemouth and the scene I remember most is when he's in Pokesdown outside my Dad's old Light shop. I recall Victor emptying rubbish into some guys car or something. I think that road was temporarily closed while filming and they came into our shop and asked if we minded.
shareYou really saw One Foot bieng filmed... wish I could have been there!
"Yes! I am invincible!" - Boris Grishenko, GoldenEye, 1995
And I saw the scene being filmed outside the hotel when Victor is the doorman and throws the snooty guy's wig down the drain. It was actually "The Royal Norfolk Hotel", Richmond Hill, Bournemouth and it was filmed on a Sunday (it took all day) when it is relatively quiet.Suffice to say I was hired by the BBC as part of the security team that day.
I live in the area and am a massive OFITG fan. I know most of the outside locations.
That's right, the Norfolk is just off the square in the centre of town. When I lived in the area I used to walk past it every day on my way to work. Never saw Victor on duty though.
shareAccording to http://www.mjnewton.demon.co.uk/tv/onefoot.htm
"The location for the Meldrews' house is in Mudeford, near Christchurch."
A good episode guide on there too
The allotment scene with Eric Idle is just round the corner from where I live in Preistly Road, Bournemouth. A mate of mine thought he had seen Richard Wilson come out of the newspaper shop round the corner.
The one where he was a Lollipop Man was on the main Blandford Road in Poole just outside the library where my auntie works. The school now is closed and derilict.
The last episode where Victor was killed was Shawford station in Hampshire.
Ha wow, i didn't realise it was filmed in Bournemouth! Then again, I was a little kid when the show was first on and only watched it occasionally or sometimes repeats. I just saw a reference to Southbourne whilst watching the DVD! I need to watch out for the locations now!
