Victor's courage.

Anyone else agree that it was a bit strange that Patrick, perhaps more so than Victor, continued their feud, despite the fact that Victor had saved Patrick's life in 'Wisdom Of The Witch'? In fact, it was never mentioned again.

Victor displays a lot of courage in most episodes yet everyone pulls a face. He stands up to all the yobbos and bad behaviours. I have a lot of respect for Victor. And he never says a mean word to Margaret although she's a real meanie to him.

I think you've hit on the very essence of One Foot in the Grave. All Victor wants is to be treated with respect (no throwing garbage in his yard or blasting loud music) and for companies to do the job they are paid to do with competence (no sleeping in his bed or peeking in the window when he's getting out of the shower or about to kiss his wife and his car should run properly when he's had it in for repair).

The display of his anger may be over the top but I think its what we all feel about the yobbos and yahoos that we encounter in life.

Margaret, despite her irritation with having to listen to Victor, understands that his unhappiness is justified she just wishes that he would not make each situation that much worse for her by yelling.

I think Victor is on the whole mostly correct with his rants & deep down we wish we could do the same thing when we see some lout throwing litter on the street. But we also see the consequences. How many times does Victor end up taking a whack on the nose? And that is why we say look the other way.
