Maurice in 1998.
First I have to mention that I am a big NX fan and to me it is probably the best TV series I have dedicated myself to watching regularly and now on DVD.
Back in 1998 a movie was being made near where I live, at a race track, and Barry Corbin had a major role as a horse owner and father of the female lead. My wife and I had free time so we went to be extras for 4 days of filming, including the 'wrap.'
During one inside scene we extras were sitting at small tables and the sound man was having a few issues, delaying shooting for maybe 5 or 10 minutes, during which Corbin came over and sat at the table next to me and we chatted a bit. Obviously I mentioned that I was a big fan of his character Maurice Minnifield. Extras normally aren't supposed to approach the actors but since he came and sat by me it wasn't an issue. He was very pleasant, and talked a bit about his ranch.
That was probably the highlight of my 4 days of being an extra in that movie, which BTW is called "A Face to Kill For", a TV movie shown initially on the USA network. If you know where to look I am in the first scene.
