New to this show

I just recently started watching this show. I am thru season 3 so far and I absolutely love it. I like every character but Chris and Ed are probably my favorites. I can't wait to watch season 4. I remember my dad watching this when I was a kid and I've been going back and watching some of the things I remember being on my TV when I was too young to really pay attention to it. I've gone back and watched Wings, Newhart, Matlock, and now Northern Exposure. I've liked all of these series but NX and Newhart are my 2 favorites.

I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest of the series. I wish they made shows like this today. Most of the stuff is forgettable mystery of the week crap.

Glad to hear! Are you watching the DVDs or on syndication? The DVDs, you really miss out on Chris Stevens' awesome record collection! I loved Newhart! I need to go back and watch it again. That's a great show to recommend on another thread about shows like Northern Exposure because it really is similar in a lot of ways! One show that I really enjoyed back in the day was Quantum Leap. It really fills me with wonderful nostalgia!

It's not so bad as long as you can keep the fear from your mind.

I'm watching on dvd. I wish I could see it with the original music but I can never find the show on TV where I'm at. Newhart was a great show. I think most NX fans would like it. Quantum Leap is also one of my all time favorite shows. I watched it when it was originally broadcast and still love it now.

I'm also new to the series on DVD. . .just saw the first two episodes of season one. I love it!!! I didn't realize it was from 1990. . . no wonder I didn't recognize John Corbett, one of my favorite guys from Sex And The City. Several people recommended this series since I was looking for comedies, and I'm so happy!

Season 4 is really good, though some of the music replacement is at its worst here. Glad you're enjoying the show!

It's taken me a couple of episodes to get used to the fantasy scenes and I'm not too fond of Shelly. Otherwise I like the show.

Welcome to the fan base of this wonderful show. I read your post and replies about DVD content and original music. Thought I would pass this along to you and others who wander here. If you do an internet search for Art Pattison, it will lead you to several links about the show and contact information. Art has a complete DVD set of the show with the original musical content. These were recorded off of a digital broadcast in Canada. Quality is not as good a produced DVD, but better than VCR converted files.
My contact with Art was a few years ago, so I’m not sure it’s current. Keep in mind that these are bootleg copies, but they are the only purely original copies I know of.

Is Art still selling the original DVDs? I've wanted to buy some for years! I finally have the money and was hoping he still was. The music makes the show!!!
