Does anyone think that Cutter and Lupo had abit of a friendship going on?
I know the Detectives / DA's always worked together, but, Cutter and Lupo seemed to be a little bit friendly. They had some nice, cute little moments together
True enough! When they had to go upstate and fight the locals trying to get evidence and info concerning a crooked sheriff, they had some time to spend together and bond! It was up there that Cutter saw Lupo reading law book IIRC! ;-/

They had some rough moments, too. I forget which episode, but there was a scene in Cutter's office where Cutter was critical of Lupo and Lupo got angry and said, "What did you say?" as if he wanted to take a swing at him. I think it stemmed from Cutter being critical of Lupo's being a law student and not knowing as much as he thought he did about search he made which turned out to be illegal and got excluded.
shareI thik it was the episode where a defense attorney was actually found to be more than a little unethical; was representing a big class action lawsuit against an airline! He framed a client to cover his killing of a judge ruling against him years before! While on the stand Lupo, who knew the law was found to have illegal looked at info making it inadmissible at trial! That's when there was a blowup in Cutters office! Lupo obviously a bigger person because he saved Cutter from being shot in a bathroom by that unethical attorney who was taken off the case losing out on his big payday! Dallas Roberts played the attorney; regular in the L & O family and is most memorable for playing serial killer Doctor Gregory Yates!

Those were two of my favorite episodes lol. Despite the tension between them throughout the episode, Lupo asking Cutter if he was alright after the shooting stuck out
Then was the one where Lupo wanted Cutter to keep him off the stand because of his PTSD and that female lawyer and Cutter was smart enough to realise there was something wrong
I loved the upstate episode. Don't know why because it was an average episode, but, I just really enjoyed it. From Lupo and the chilli to him being arrested protecting Connie and him and Cutter staying behind in the motel room and using his law studies to MCoy using blackmail to get the Sheriff (I think). It was just enjoyable
I also noticed the little scene in the episode with the gang fights in the park and Cutter is annoyed because they didn't have enough evidence or something. And Lupo says (can't remember the exact line) something like "I thought you'd be pleased". It was a cute little moment that showed Lupo was genuinely hurt at Cutter's put down - not just a DA annoyed at a cop (which frequently happened) but, two friends. That's when it struck me that there seemed to be abit of a friendship between them
