Was Hyancinth's maiden name ever mentioned? She changed the pronounciation to "Bouquet" when she married but Richard insisted that it was "Bucket" and always had been.

Interestingly enough though, Hyacinth has traditionally been a boys name not a girls name (after St Hyacinth who was a man). If you wanted to feminize the name you would've called the girl Hyacintha or Hyacinthia.
I do wonder if it was deliberate on the writers behalf.
That is funny, as a flower name usually will be a girl's name. Then again, Narcissus also was a boy's name.

Hyacinth is traditionally a female name in the UK. Lots of old ladies still have it. True it originated as a male name (from ancient Greek terminology, not a saint), but it has traditionally been female here for centuries. No reason for the writers to consider the gender of it when they chose it.
