Do you know someone like Hyacinth?

This is what I wrote in another thread on this board:

My sister had a "friend", who stalked her like crazy! She always wanted to hang out with her, and if she said no to her, she said she had to consider her priorities! It didn't help either that her boyfriend was a complete scum. He had all of Onslow's bad sides and none of his good ones. Another friend of my sister's saw him at town one time and immediately understood what a creep he was! After a while, they moved to another town a good bit down south, so we haven't met them in ten years. But she called my sister once on Christmas Eve, insisted on talking to her for an entire hour, and poor sis was completely exhausted afterwards. I doubt this girl held could hold entire town in dread though.

LOL..Actually, Yes, but it's a relative of mine who is a gay man. He tries to give the impression of having the life of Liberace, but we know better. I means it's hilarious stuff.

Yes, and this makes for all the more fun to follow Hyacinth and her constanly insufferably continuous antics.

But there just may be a touch of Hyacinth Bouquet in many of us, as we plan our daily strategies weeks and weeks ahead of schedule, knowing exactly what we'll wear that day, and rehearse in our modest boasting.

Hyacinth, therefore, becomes quite the role model to follow, and we do wish that her elaborate schemes would work out for her benefit a bit more often than it would seem because that would benefit many, oh, just all over the place in some of the better social circles, of course.

My mother-in-law is much like Hyacinth. Maybe not quite as from from but definitely on the snob scale. She's 88 and was in advertising and publishing as a career. She's always telling my husband to wear a suit and tie. Part of it is her generation, but much is her general snobbishness. My husband agrees!

My teenagers, always embarrassed by their parents (including our clothes, car, etc.)

I am still stuck 'living' with a real-life hyacinth and richard, except the real one is MUCH worse!
