Some characters should never have been seen.

The fact that Sheridan is never seen gives the viewer their own interpretations of that character. I for one knew that he was a total mummy's boy. Moddle coddled all his life. Poor Richard probably never got near him to play games etc. Mummy would think it was too dangerous. When he left home to go to tech he played his role to the hilt by phoning Mummy, never wanting to speak to Daddy but to ask for some more money. Richard tried to put his foot down.

The other character who we see in later series is Violet. We shouldn't have seen her either. Conjuring up a character from Hyacinth's phone calls would have been plenty of fodder without bringing the character on the screen. "My sister Violet, with the mercades, swimming pool and room for a pony" always cracked me up. Later on through the phone conversations we find out that Bruce is a cross dresser amongst other things. We didn't need to see him either.

Finally, Daddy. He should have been locked up in the attic with only references of his escapades. Never shown.

That's my opinion as it is/was a great series and I loved it when it aired and hardly missed an episode. Now catching up on Presto and still falling off my couch laughing.
