John Major
Is this a joke, or is this man ACTUALLY going to be hosting the 25/05/08 show?
shareI hope so. That would be brilliant!
An ex-PM? Bliar wouldn't dare do it. At least Major has a sense of humour and is a genuinely nice bloke.
(I met him once and he was a very charming, friendly man).

Major might not be so bad - he seems to have loosened up a lot since leaving Downing Street. He probably won't be as good as William Hague (an unexpected gem), but certainly better than Ann Widdecombe...
Now that we have guided missiles, we have misguided men.
Martin Luther King
Ann Widdecombe was sensational the first time that she presented.
The second - I don't know what went wrong! She was dreadful!
Hague, as you say, was a surprising one. Brilliant at the autocue, a deadpan delivery and enough good humour to laugh at himself.

In terms of presenting abilities, the Conservatives far outstrip their closest political rivals in Labour it seems, with people such as Hague and Boris. The Lib Dems put up fairly well as well; Charles Kennedy is always a pleasure to watch, but the Labourites...well, Neil Kinnock's burst ventricle-inducing performance brutally epitomises their terribleness. Probably.
shareOh well, I guess it was too good to be true. Still, Clary's always good I suppose.
