Who would you like as a Guest Presenter?
Anyone in the world..
I would like Angus back for a stint and Mark Lamarr....Lamarr would be so cool.
Has paxman ever done it, if not then him too.

Paxman has never done HIGNFY, he once said (I'm paraphrasing) that he'd rather have his testicles shut in a metal vice. So no Paxo, unfortunately.
I'd like Ian to host a show, I mean why not? I'd like Piers Morgan to present too, simply because I enjoy him making a twat out of himself. And Gyles Brandreth, get him on telly as much as possible.
Other than that it doesn't really matter, all the hosts do is read from an autocue. I'd like to do it actually. I'd be a brilliant host.
I am what I am and I do what I can.
Salman Rushdie! He was a guest once, at the height of his notoriety. It would be great to have him back!
Maybe Ardal O'Hanlon, or John Major perhaps?!

Thought of another one..simon pegg
shareI'm still hoping they'll get Chris Morris (in full Day Today mode) in for a week to rip a few heads off.

mark lamarr, definitley
shareAngus
sharei agree that it should definitely b mark lamarr, the thing is that it would b really weird going from him presenting buzzcocks...take a while to get used to. and i think hes a brilliant comedian, but then there could be some competition between him and paul, paul is better tho.
failing mark, i think brucie should make another welcome novelty appearence. i think the "play your iraqi cards right" thing a couple of years ago was pure genius!

Yeah, Simon Pegg would be brilliant!

Que "shafted" tape
My top 3 would be;
-Jimmy Carr, what a legend, has he been on before? I'm sure he'd give Ian and Paul a run for their money.
-Angus Deayton, he was the original, and to me, the best. too bad he got chucked off in that way and has never talked to paul and ian since...
-Simon Pegg, great british comedian, don't know about quick wittedness but he'd easily pull off the autocue jokes.
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia - Fear of long words
angus (obviously)
and simon pegg, but also possibly simon amstyll
If you're gonna go, go obnoxiously.

Agree with the Chris Morris one. Hmm possibly Sean Lock.
shareBoris Johnson of course! He has been many many times before, but i just cant get enough of him being bogged down from both sides!
shareHow bout the PM Tony Blair, hes retiring so he'll have some spare time soon and it would be brilliant to see Paul and Ian ripping the **** out of him. Rowan Atkinson would be good aswell but i hear he tends to dry up quite often so he may have a problem

shareBorat.
Oh, come on. You have to imagine it.
"Jashgemash, and welcome to Have We Got News For You. My name'a Borat."
I take it you're joking with Borat. I don't think Borat would go well for have I got news for you. I think they're two seperate kinds of comedy. HIGNFY is intelligent comedy. Borat is just stupid comedy.
As mentioned before, Simon Pegg would be my choice.
I could imagine Harry Hill presenting, that'd be so funny. What about Frankie Boyle from Mock of the Week or Simon Amstell. (since he made one of his contestants walk off)
shareI think Simon Pegg and Nick Frost should both present one show, because they are so funny together!
I'd also like to see Jimmy Carr simply because he is such a talented comedian..Maybe Russell Brand?

Stephen Merchant's a good call actually.
Not sure if these have been mentioned in the thread yet, but I'd like to see David Tennant, Nick Hancock and Lee Mack given a try.
I'd also like to see Alistair McGowan used again. One of the better hosts of the last few series.
"If you shoot this man, you die next. Repeat. If you shoot this man, you die next."

i was going to say frankie boyle too
shareI've met Ardal O'Hanlon and he'd be great for a guest presenter :-)
But I think we should have Tony Slattery. He used to be on telly all the time before he was so ill.
He is much better now, so I hear: it would be lovely to see him again.

Possible David Mitchell or Richard Ayoade... or maybe even... David Cameron!!!! "One is not amused by Mr Merton's impersonations" altho personally, and this is just my opinion, they shud make Boris Johnson full-time host or at least give him an appearance every so often coz the guy's just funny!
"Welease Woger!"
David Mitchell, Richard Ayoade or Rick Mayall
shareStephen Fry. No question. But unfortunately he now refuses to have anything to do with the show. Paxman would be good too...

Ian and Paul are certainly not homophobic. The reason Stephen Fry has distanced himself from the programme and refused to do it again is in response to Angus' sacking. He said it was appalling; so English, a double-standard and utterly shameful.
Since then, he said that he would never return to HIGNFY. A terrible shame, because he is the best thing on British television at the moment, but an understandable act of solidarity.
If Boris was our P.M. it would be a shambolic fiasco. He would make this country more of a laughing stock than it already is; he would not cope well in a real crisis and he is too much of a novelty to be taken seriously. He is OK on HIGNFY once in a while, but he does get tedious in the end. The blustering gets on your nerves, which is why he could never be a permanent fixture.
See how he copes if he gets to be London's next mayor first!

I would like to see Stephen Fry on there, but that is not going to happen. I would also like to see Piers Morgan on there again, but I don't think he will. What about one of the former 3am girls like Jessica Callan or Poll Graham. I would also like Brian Blessed back or Tom Baker.
shareSo, retrogal83... about your third paragraph... 🤔😁
