The use of clips was very sophisticated

I don't think most people have ever given much thought to how extremely complicated it would be to put together a show this way. Each clip has to be relevant to the main character's mental state, and also be funny in the context of the script. It's almost unimaginable how much time they must have had to spend poring over old shows and cataloguing dialogue and so on. I'm sure computers helped, but at that time it would not have been as sophisticated as now.

I agree! I was thinking about this while watching the show. I would have love to have seen how it was all done. Very well done.

A "making of" doc would be fantastic, agreed.

Still make me laugh. Good to see it again.

You are watching it on youtube aren't you? If you aren't watching it unedited then go to following link. It has every episode of every season.

Actually, the uploader closed their YouTube account. HBO didn't take it off.
That's too bad. I thought it would be there if I wanted to watch it again because it was up for years.
I made my post a year ago,and that time the videos had been up for years.
What stinks is HBO has lots of old shows available to watch through HBO GO and Amazon Prime. They don't have Tales From the Crypt or Dream On. You can find Tales on youtube though.
Now the only way to see it are those "free" clubs you join. You know the ones I'm talking about right?
Anyway, it was good while it lasted.

Ah, so. Well, rats.

Cheers and thanks for updating me!

I think that most people who actually watched the show appreciated it - I know that's one of the main reasons I watched it, anyway.

In direct response to, or in continuation of the dialogue... freakin' brilliant!

I'm sure people who watched enjoyed it--but I still doubt most of them consciously appreciated what an achievement it was. In a sense, that's a good thing: like most great craftsmanship in cinema or TV, it was so fluidly interwoven that it didn't call attention to itself.

It would be interesting to see an edited version of the show without those clips. Sort of along the lines of those clips of The Wonder Years without the narration that fills in Kevin's inner thoughts (and make Fred Savage seem like a better actor).
