Terrible DVD set...

I was going through my old tapes a few months ago, and came across my VHS copies of Dracula the Series. The show still has charm and has aged well. However, I wanted a better quality commercial free version. So I was happy to discover that that there was a DVD release of the show.

I ordered the DVD set, and to my dismay the transfer is terrible. Now I was watching this on a 1080p 46 inch LED Samsung TV and it is not like the show was shot in HD or anything. However, my Blu-Ray player up-converts all SD DVD's to a higher quality. Hell some of my up converted regular DVD's look almost as good as Blu-Ray. For example, the up-converted version of The Lost Boys looks amazing and almost as good as my Blu-Ray copy. However, even the Blu-Ray player couldn't do anything to help. Hell, the picture quality on my VHS tapes looks better. Not to mention the fact that there were no extras at all. I was hoping for a behind the scenes look or maybe a commentary track. Nothing. So while it is nice to have the show commercial free at least, the terrible quality and lack of extras makes it a very disappointing DVD release.

It's not only a bad transfer, the last two episodes are in the wrong order. Dinner with Lucard is NOT the last episode. The last episode is the cliffhnger that is before it on the set.
