Re-watching the seasons much later as an older adult...
I actually really like Andrea. Not that we have the same name or anything (lol) but, she seems like such a sweet girl and very relatable too. One of my favorite characters for sure. :)

shareOnly the first few seasons, in college she became incredibly annoying. What I liked better about her character is that she could be very self-righteous, but it would usually blow up in her face and make her more humble. Pompous asses like Brandon would always get their way.
shareI thought she was really sweet to Emily when Brandon broke up with her and I loved that she was so sweet to kids.
shareBrandon was a rich guy and even though he had to 'work' for car money---he still was privileged bc of the double standard. Think how many times he had sex as a minor and Jim did not care. Brenda does once and Jim flips out.
shareJimbo was such an ass. Didn't he pretty much high five Brandon when his girlfriend from Minnesota spent the night in his room? I believe Brenda brought up the double standard once, but not even Cindy would back her up.
shareGood point about Jim. I felt bad for Brenda because in a way, Jim tried to sabotage Brenda and Dylan's relationship....
sharehave you seen the remake?
shareI am re-discovering a lot of shows since Pluto TV has gotten popular. This and Baywatch are a few of them. I remember why I stopped watching in my teens - like 3 people on this show are likeable. Andrea, Donna, and maybe a few of the adults. They are awful people for the most part.
shareEverybody in this show is a terrible person. Donna is the best and only good character, she's too pure of heart.
shareDisagree Donna's the 'good character' she pressures David to speed up on taking classes in high school before he himself actually emotionally ready to graduate. So he can't handle college and does drugs almost flunking out. He needed to stay behind a year even if it meant writing him off the show.
She drinks at the senior prom when they are not supposed to and although the school rallies to her side against the rules when she is caught, the fact is that she was under 21 in the state of California at the time also. She knew that 21 was the legal drinking age in California at the time.
I don't remember that first storyline you're talking about· Still don't think that makes her a bad character.
I honestly thought Donna was done dirty in that episode. Everyone makes mistakes and dumb choices when they're young in life, she should not have had to pay such a big price because of it.
I like the character of Andrea for various reasons. She's a writer and editor. She's a hard worker. She's realistic and easier for people to relate to since she isn't rich. She has glasses and naturally frizzy curly hair, unlike a lot of other pretty female leads you'd see during that time. She seems more open to interracial relationships than the other characters. She ends up as a wife and mom. She stands up against Antisemitism (a Jew herself.)
She isn't always the one you root for, but it's just part of her character flaws.
Cheats on her husband though , oops
shareHe looked like Charles Dickens.
