Colin's high speed chase...

So dumb! You can tell the show was trying to capture the intensity of the O.J. chase.

It was amazing how everyone just happened to be watching the news at the same time to see Colin's van being chased. And...apparently the police were fine letting a news camera man just walk right up and film some closeups while they drew their guns on a suspect...Wow. That's some realistic writing right there.

Exactly! Like a news program would just walk right up to a guy (who could be armed) after a high speed chase. Also, you're right--apparently everyone in L.A. must be forced to watch the same channel!

The whole Kelly-Colin episodes mark the period when the show became out of control and just a cash grab for what was left. One could say that it went downhill after season 4, which is true, but it truly became pathetic as it got into the later seasons. (Of course, there were some notable, occasional good episodes every now and then.)

They basically had a good startup series for a teen show for the network that was probably good for 4 or 5 seasons, then got stretched into stupidity and exploiting current events, like the O.J. chase scene that turned into Colin, that you referred to!

Yes the show just got horribly unbelievable as time went on. Seemed like the writers were just running out of good, dramatic storylines for their aging Beverly Hills brats so they decided to turn the show into a mixture of a bunch of other shows which were popular at the time. Like L.A. Law, Cops, E.R., etc.
