Not really serious at all
This is one of those flicks that wants to be a serious look at relationships, sex, and love but comes off as a jilted woman's self-therapy project. Same silly rom-com elements. No real accountability for all those women taping themselves with a strange guy and just trusting in his heart to not leak them?
The evil cheating husband with the doting perfect wife and home is a philanderer and gets his in the end by losing his wife, girlfriend, and career all in one karmic swoop.
The mysterious, handsome man drops in and who knows how to really treat a woman. And, in typical soap opera fashion, doesn't have to worry about silly things like a job or money.
Even the one "flaw" we think we're going to see in Andie McDowell (her frigidity) gets passed off as the husband's fault since he's the one who shuts off sex first.
I gave it 6/10. The acting was great, just eye-rolling for a movie I was expecting to be thought-provoking. Not an interesting look at why either spouse strayed.
Amy: I swear to God...I swear to God! That is NOT how you treat your human!
