Around March 2011, Universal is release the theatrical release of 1989 version of "The Wizard" on BLU-RAY.

Director Todd Holland, gather the cast & crew to document the whole experience of the movie, along with Fred Savage, Luke Edwards and Jenny Lewis to do the commentary for the film.

the Blu Ray will conclude

> Interviews with the Cast
> "Where are they Now" feature video
> Commentary with The Director & Fred, Luke & Jenny.
> Making of the The Wizard features.
> "Video Armageddon" feature video
> Trailers & TV Spots
> Deleted Scenes
> Photo Gallery
> Music Cues isolated.

Could you provide a link to where you got this information from? I tried searching for news on the Blu-Ray release, but nothing came up.

The director wants to do a 25th anniversary. He is active on Twitter and posts about The Wizard frequently. Tweet and e-mail Universal if you can about it.

It's a shame this has never been released on Blu-ray but maybe it's due to their source not being very good and thus far not worthy of a BD release.

HDNet Movies had the Wizard in HD but it's really just an upscale to 720p.

I wish they would've took better care of this source because even the Wonder Years on DVD are just VHS rips which at least look very good (I know I should be glad and I am that they got it all complete and released finally).

I have that same HD Rip of The Wizard from HD Movies Net, it's a nice holdover until the film gets an official release on blu.
