Why did the little black girl have to be the one getting pulled over?
Anybody know?

Why does race always get brought up in everything? Honestly, its 2009, there is an African American President and the most powerful man in the world.
I am unsure why you would seriously question a random, spacey comedy from 1989? They are a bunch of spoiled rich kids from Beverly Hills-- there's your big stereotype right there. This is a great, wholesome, fun movie that people have watched since they were young, race has nothing to do with anything.
They had Jasmine's dad in that ridiculously nice car getting pulled over for speeding. They picked Jasmine because her dad is the one who is the most famous out of all the troop girls' dads. Her dad is the famous boxer. It would be silly if that asian girl's dad was a boxer, right?
That way the officer wouldn't give him a ticket, would ask for his autograph, etc. She is the really spunky one with a twist of attitude so it made since to have her be the one that gives that speech to the cop. I cannot believe I actually took time to write this, but honestly I hate how some people still think everyone is racist. Get over it.

I always thought it was intentional to show the black family putting one over on the cop to show just how powerful they were. You EXPECT the black man to be pulled over and treated with suspicion and then his daughter totally puts the cop in his place.
shareWas the father a boxer? I got from the child's speech that he was the guy who trained or promoted boxers.
shareYeah the dad was a boxer. Remember the officer tried to get his autograph on the ticket sheet, and he said something like "not on that thing you won't."
