Who sings the song that is playing when the girls and Shelley Long go to the retirement home and teach the elderly to "do the freddie"? It has bugged me for years...

jenny lewis, who played hannah in the movie, later used that line in her rilo kiley song the frug. you should listen to it. it's a good song.

The British group Herman's Hermits released the song "The Freddie"

Nope... It was Freddie and the Dreamers.

I don't have a video clip of them doing that particular song, but here's "I'm Telling You Now," and they're doing "the Freddie" as they perform.

Yep. Freddie and the Dreamers. I was a club DJ in the early 90s and used to throw this on. The crowds loved it.
