As suggested by Number One in the first pilot episode of Star Trek, age computation can sometimes be interesting.

After seeing Spy Kids on tv a few times, I finally realized that I remembered Alexa Vega portraying a girl about six years old in Little Giants (1994) and Carla Gugino portrayed a teenage girl named Chica in Troop Beverly Hills (1989) whose fictional age was about 16 I think. I think I counted at least 14 candles n Chica's birthday cake.

So Carla portrayed at least one character with a fictional birth date around 1972-1973 and Alexa portrayed at least one character with a fictional birth date around 1987-1988, and they portrayed mother and daughter in Spy Kids.

Actually Carla Gugino's birth date is said to be August 29, 1971 and Alexa Vega's birth date is said to be August 27, 1988, sixteen years, eleven months and 29 days later.

Tori Spelling was in this movie too...and looked much younger than her 16 years of age...unless they shot this movie in 1988, only to release it in 1989? 90210 came out in 1990, and Tori clearly looked like a teenager.

Carla always seems to be cast in rolls much older than she actually is THESE days LOL

I was on internet and Carla admitted she lied about her age to get the job. She was 16 when it was filmed. She told the director this when it was too late to change to someone else.
