Best Ever Opening Sequence in a Film

I love how it just cuts right into a high speed police chase, which is synced up to a pounding energetic Faltermeyer score. I love the fast editing that establishes the characters and the location. I love the visuals, the location, the props, the sound design and especially the back and forth banter from Tango and the overhead police chopper. The whole sequence is just so damn slick it almost gives me goosebumps.

It then transitions to the two guys flying out of the front wind screen, onto the hard asphalt. A quick back and forth repartee between Tango - and - not only the bad guys, but also his police superiors. We then infuse all this with a self effacing Rambo joke (the fact that Stallone IS Rambo just makes this scene pop) and we end it with him shooting a bullet hole through the tanker to reveal pouring cocaine. Finally topped off with a rhetorical 'Anyone wanna get high?" quip.

I know I got high just watching how good the opening sequence was, and to that, I thank everyone involved with the making of this brilliant film.

It's not as good as the film they stole it from - Jackie Chan's Police Story.

Came to say the same thing, awesome opening. Sly was awesome in that scene, really funny too. Rambo... is a pussy. Whadda ya know, it's snowing!

Forgot how fun this movie was, watching it as we speak.

See you at the party, Richter!

Not worth more than a shrug - a much forgettable intro. And some of the things uttered by the participants were quite ominous... like a warning for the dreadful things to follow. And follow they did.
