She couldn't be that oblivious. Sure she doesn't watch the news but perhaps a friend, co-worker or colleague would have told her.

She told Cash that she recognized him because of the news coverage. She also knew that her brother had been convicted.

Yeah apparently the justice system was like 300x faster in 1989 than today. Also, in prisons, they must have let prisoners throw crap all over the place, light fires & have open flames everywhere back then LOL.

She also couldn't be bothered to attend the trial and support her brother and carried on living her life as it was before. Crap relative.
