Never seen the man act so badly before.

I'm not keen on his performance either. But I think he was going for a character with a different edge to him. It didn't work for me.

Does "to date" mean "up until 1989"? Or generally in his career? If the former, his performance in Rhinestone was pretty bad, and both Over the Top and Cobra were no worse than this. If the latter... i think the most lifeless and stiff performance ha gave was "The Specialist".
