What did George write on the wall? (spoiler)

Hello.

The Kino DVD gave no translation to what George wrote on the wall at the end. Does anybody know? Its strange that it was not subtitled, because it seemed significant.

My KINO DVD of this film does not subtitle radio transmissions either, so some elements of the film are lost to me. I could pick up some things in the first part about Bagdadh, Iraq, and bombings. But not much else. Could someone inform me of what they are talking about on the radio?

Anyone?

reply

He wrote the time of death of his family and himself.

reply

Okay. Thank you very much!!! I have been wondering for quite some time. Feel free too post about the radio transmissions as well. Thanks

reply

it probably didn't provide a translation because most of the writing is in numbers and most people worldwide above the age of two have the ability to understand arabic numerals.

reply

My fault. I missed that, when I last saw it. But you dont need to act like such a dick budselig.

reply

he has to because "most people worldwide above the age of two have the ability to understand arabic numerals"

reply

The radiotalk is as meaningless as the death of this family.

reply

it's news from the österreichischer rundfunk (oe1). it's about the events that happened in '89. not very imporant (doesn't add anything to the story).

But it does add to the story. Every morning this family awake to the latest international news and the news is often about wars and conflicts. That is significant given the mood of the family.

The radio minus subtitles is much more effective than it would be with them.
