worst and waste

two words which i can describe about this movie

i did not felt any sorry for this family...never ever the actors involved as the characters anywhere in the movie.(awful acting..especially the father)..it was not even a home...just a "wax museum"...lifeless and dumb roles..

Director's attempt to "force" this cheap and third rate melodrama to the viewer's mind is so ridiculous..

The only help i got from this movie and from this director is just not to watch the rest of his movies...

reply

The best thing that the author could and has done is to show their home as "wax museum". If not, the whole plot would have no sense. It was his idea to show that modern world destroys humanity, family life, homes. And more and more homes all around us are becoming "wax museums". But most people don't see it, they seem to be satisfied with that while leading their empty wax lives with wax in their heads after being brainwashed by those who need wax people to serve them.

You seem to have badly missed the point. It is entirely intended for them to be like a wax museum, alienated, desensitized, etc. Considering the pains Haneke went to to make sure you wouldn't feel sorry for the family, it's not unsurprising that you don't..

You are reacting exactly as Haneke wanted you to react and then you blame Haneke for making a bad film. It's so strange. Funny Games (another film by Haneke) seems to create similar reactions in viewers.

reply

So you are saying that Haneke intentionally made bad film? Thats.. odd... to say the least.
