Were any fish harmed during the making of this film?
I can't help but feel the same way as Eva when I saw the poor fishes meet their maker. Did they get filmed and then thrown back into the water or did they really die?

'In Austria, you are not allowed to harm an animal in any context other than what is legally allowed. That animal was already set for slaughter. In “Seventh Continent,” the whole house was a set and filmed in a studio. The scene where Georg smashes the fish tank was shot in one take. There were separate cameras and a whole team standing around with big buckets of water, as soon as the camera stopped rolling, they threw the fish back in the water. For the individual close-ups, they took the fish out, set it on the ground, got the shot, and the fish went back into the bucket. '
Good to hear that they survived but it was still cruel to do it in the first place, now I wonder what happened to the goldfish in Total Recall? lol
Somehow they all looked as if they continued to dry up and gradually stopped moving with every cut. My gurami fish jumped out of the tank onto the floor and yes it survived, but from then on the fish became overactive and ultra aggressive. Thus you're better off not doing that sort of stuff i guess.
shareI was also worried about the fishes. Clad to hear that they survived.
