How do you spell Wally's surname? Karew/Karue/Kerew/Carue?

That's what IMDB says, but on what authority is that based? DVD subtitles? The film's credits don't spell out Wally or Dave's surnames, and other reviewers (eg. Allmovie.com and TVGuide.com) spell it as "Karew".

...but at the same time if you Google the film and the name spelled Karue, you will find a bunch of matches from different sites.

If you Google the film you will find all sorts of spellings. Apparently even the studio doesn't know: the DVD subtitles have "Kerew" but in this official presskit photo of Richard Pryor it's spelled "Karew": http://j.mp/hI3XjT.

Go figure. And I really should get out more often.
