The first staff meeting
When the owner introduced Dalton to the staff for the first time to tell them about the changes, why was the visiting band there?

shareSeems to me they were the house band as they were there for several weeks. They even let the waitress lipsync "Knock on Wood" with them.

Well Cody was so happy to see Dalton he just decided to hang out. I mean here he was taking over a new bar this man is the Picasso of Bouncers. If you had the opportunity to watch him paint or Dalton give his first "things are gonna change around here" speech. What would ANY person do?
shareAlso, Cody and Band needed to be there since they would be part of the new Double Douche ambience. They are just as part of the staff as the waitresses and bartenders.
How would Cody and Band feel if they showed up one night to play some good redneck songs and found out the Double Douche was now going to be a cool, jazz type lounge?
The real life Jeff Healey Band played the house band at the Double Deuce. I have no idea how long they had been there. Jeff Healey played Cody, the blind guitar player/singer. In 2008 Healey died of cancer. He was only 41 years old.
Kathleen Wilhoite played cocktail waitress Carrie Ann. Wilhoite sang for real. She is an accomplished singer and songwriter with two solo albums albums, "Pitch Like a Girl" (1997, Daves' Record Company) and "Shiva" (2000, Ruby Ray Records). Her songs have also appeared in films and television.
Thank you... I was getting tired of people insulting her with the "lip synching" comments...
shareThanks!
shareThat was probably my second favorite meeting in a movie. My first favorite was in "Full Metal Jacket".
shareThe meeting in the bunk house in Stripes is up there in the top 5.
shareWould have loved to have seen Dalton and Gunnery Sgt. Hartman in a bar fight.
Hartman: "I will unscrew your head and $#@! down your neck!!!!"
Dalton: "Be nice."
"Don't tell me your little problems son, all I'm interested in is results."
From past experience, Cody and the band knew that Dalton would likely clean house when he started. They probably had bets on who would get fired. Also, Morgan probably bullied them and they wanted to see his face (hear his reaction in Cody's case) when he got fired.
Where the hell is Beeks.
when things get messy, the house band are obligated to get involved so they need Dalton to tell them when its time to not be nice.
shareSomebody had to tell the band that the chicken wire protecting them from flying bottles was going to be removed.
Promise me, no matter h ow hopeless things get, keep on trying, OK? Keep coming chin-up, OK?
