Conflict of interest

Since Wesley took a cut of the DD business, and he was selling them booze, wasn't in his best interest for it to be successful?

I think he wanted the whole enchilada, so it was better to put them out of business and then take over from there.

Possible, or maybe just ego.

Remember years ago Vince McMahon of WWE bought out WCW. He should have made them be a competitor to WWE. Because of his ego he smashed them instead.

That is what Wesley did, too. Like Alfred Batman's butler said, some people just want to watch the world burn.

Brad Wesley had his fingers in everyone's pocket. He was shaking down everyone in town. Pay up and nothing happens to you.

Before Dalton came to town. The Double Deuce was a slaughter house. It was a place where the staff mopped up the eye balls after closing. People were getting shot or stabbed almost every night. So maybe because the Double Deuce wasn't the best business in town. Brad Wesley ignored it, waiting for it to fall apart, then pick up what was left over.

Then Dalton came to town and help cleaned it up. Dalton got rid of all the trouble makers. And people started to spend money at the new Double Deuce. So Brad Wesley called up the people who were supplying alcohol to the Double Deuce and told them cut off the alcohol sales to the Double Deuce or lose my business. SO they cut off the Double Deuce.

It was another way to squeeze the Double Deuce.
