The Shout Select Blu-ray release

Once you see Road House for yourself, you will then realize you haven’t fully lived. Road House isn’t a “good” film — not by any stretch — but it is a damn fine time, with all the fight scenes, sexytime, cartoon villainy, and Sam Elliott you can stand. A great soundtrack, some rafters-shooting performances, and a strange tone of broad comedy meets disturbing violence make Road House a unique experience and an essential missing component of your collection. If you have MGM’s previous release, throw its bloodied body in the lake and scream, *beep* you, Wesley!” Shout Factory’s new release is in town, and it’s the last one you’ll ever need. http://www.cutprintfilm.com/blu/road-house/

Yeah its deff an upgrade from the older MGM release, looks much sharper and details show more.

About the film Roger Ebert said it best.

"Road House" exists right on the edge between the "good-bad movie" and the merely bad. I hesitate to recommend it, because so much depends on the ironic vision of the viewer. This is not a good movie.
But viewed in the right frame of mind, it is not a boring one, either.

Shout factory's bluray is awesome, the picture clarity is unreal, easily the definitive release of this Swayze classic.

Shout just announced on Facebook their blu-ray release is going out of print as their rights are expiring. If you don't own the blu-ray you better buy it now. Maybe there will be a 4k remaster eventually.
