Wade Garrett deserves his own movie

I know it's a little late for Sam Elliott to reprise the role, and also for this sort of movie to actually be greenlit but the character of Wade Garrett always intrigued me. He's clearly been in quite a few fights in his time, he shows he knows how to dance, acts as a mentor to the movies hero, Dalton, and has probably even killed a few people as evidenced by one of the coolest lines in movie history..."when someone puts a gun in your face you got two choices, you can die or you can kill the *beep*

What dan of this movie wouldn't want to see a movie on the backstory of Wade Garrett? How many men has he killed? Where did he learn how to dance? how did he become the legend the bars make him out to be?

Agreed! For me this is one of those movies where the backstory being alluded to is so much more compelling than the story being told. The Wade and Dalton history and the makings of them as men just has such potential. Loved their dynamic and would have loved more Wade.

Well, it would have to be a prequel by necessity.

Off the topic a bit - I understand the reason they killed Wade was to push Dalton over the edge, but if I'm Dalton, how do I get over the fact that I called my buddy to give me a hand and he ends up dead for the effort. The final scene where he's frolicking with doc in the river seems wrong given that what he accomplished was achieved only at the cost of the death of his friend.

I would have written Wade beaten to with an inch of his life and an attempt made on doc's life (like what happened to Emmett) to push him to kill Jimmy and Wesley.

That is actually a really good amendment to the actual narrative; but my concern is that you are too smart to have thought of all the stupid redneck stuff in the narrative that makes this movie so very enjoyable. You, my friend, would have un-dumbed it UP, and we would have lost priceless lines like, “A polar bear fell on me” and “Elvis! Play something with BALLS!”

Do you realize that you’re talking to a man who not only has this movie on Blu-ray in his library, but also RED, Transporter AND Transporter 3, Shoot ‘Em Up, Commando, the ENTIRE Underworld series AND Howling II: Your Sister Is A Werewolf? Oh, plus the complete filmography of the much-overlooked genius director, Andy Sidaris.

Definitely would have made more sense, but making sense is just not something this movie did particular well, which gives it its charm, and why we still enjoy it.
