I guess the question is stupid if you're a real fan, but I'm not. I've seen this movie 15 years ago, and still remember that haunting melody that goes throughout the film. For example the very last scene in the movie where Jill escapes from Erik's apartment after killing him and the misterious man is playing it on the violine. I get goose bumps even now. Question is where can I find that melody, I want to download it but I haven't got a clue what's it called... Just tell me what I have to type to find it pls.?
dude i dont know if you knew this or not! this might sound weird but Erik Destler was real! the melody called something like DonJuan or something. but im not sure where you can download it
so it is "don juan triumphant"? i didn't want to mention it so i wouldn't lead the answer, i heard a part of that tune but i really can't tell if that's the same one i've heard a long time ago. i didn't know erik destler was real but i guess the story like this has to be based on something... thanks man!
There was a real man in the cellars of the Paris Opera in the late 1880´s and there was a young opera singer called Christine Daae, her boyfriend - Raoul de Chagny and his brother - Philippe. The chandelier indeed fall over the audience once, there was such a woman called Madame Giry who died just after the despairence of Christine. Gaston Leroux get all of this information and put it on the book that is how Leroux thought that really happened those mysteryous "accidents" at the theater.
i can understand why you would think the story is true gaston himself said at the beginning that it was real but you should know something he only said that to capture attention from the readers THIS STORY IS FALSE IN EVERY WAY!
am i the only one who's read the book? that's what all of the phantom movies are based on! it's by Gaston Leroux but it's pretty bad...luv the story hate the words
wow. the responses to your question are mostly just plain stupid. The music in the film mostly (including the theme you speak of) original score written for the movie by Misha Segal. Had you checked the cast & crew area od imdb, you too would know this. You can buy the soundtrack on Amazon.com or other large music retailers. Unfortunately, you cannot find the specific piece of music you speak of as far as the rendition mysteriously played on violin at the end of the film nor the organ and vocal version, but graveyard scene where the Phantom plays "Don Juan Triumphant" on violin is included in the soundtrack as "graveyard violin." Also, the version from when Christine sings it at her audition in the beginning of the film is included, but it is unfortunately immediately followed by the music for the time-travel within the same track. That track is called, "Don Juan Triumphant/Traveling Through Time."
It's true that there are some truths to the novel and therefore a few truths to this version of the film. Those truths are few and far between and unrelated to your question.
my god finally somebody with a real answer, hey thanks man... listen I know about the graveyard violine and everything but I can't get that cd from Amazon, cause they don't ship it over here, I'm from Serbia and every time you order it, it gets messed up. I didn't want to mention anything of my (poor) knowledge about the soundtrack nor did I asked whether the movie is based on true events but still thanks to other guys that replied. Another thing, if you are able to find this movie for me (+ a soundtrack) in any shape or form except VHS I' ll gladly send you the money or a couple of movies in exchange, anyways if you are willing I'm sure we can come to an agreement and further contact, if not thanks anyway.
Pretty cool, huh? I tried to send you a private message about this months ago. I actually happened to meet the composer, Misha Segal the week we were talking about it. Nice guy.
