Does This Film Use The Music/Lyrics From The Webber Musical ??

Does this film use the music and lyrics from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera ? If so, did he authorize the use of his music back in 1989 ? Was this a film he approved of ? I thought he originally wanted the film to star Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman but the film was never made due to his divorcing Sarah Brightman. The film would not be produced until 2004 when the Gerard Butler/Emmy Rossum/Patrick Wilson Joel Shumacher film was released.

No. The music is composed by Misha Segal and has original lyrics (The music is the only good thing in this movie).

This movie wasnt based on ALW's version.
