All this hoopla over the prostitutes...


The Phantom brutally kills a dozen people in the short timeframe of this film, not to mention stitches their skin onto his face, yet everyone's pissed off that he gets a hooker? Wow.

But isn't that the way stuff is seen now?
Stabbing someone to death or shooting a hole through their head... oh that's fine but show people having sex or god forbid ENJOYING sex and that's just plain wrong.

Even though that might've fit his character.

Oh, wait, she was supposed to resemble Christine, wasn't she? (I haven't seen this movie in years, so I don't remember many details.)

A lot of people seem to find it out of his character, but I disagree. If Erik could go out as he pleased, he probably would find a prostitute and sleep with her out of desperation for human contact, but only if she looked like Christine.
