Cindy
Those who, like me, adore this movie (and would rate it much more highly than its current 7.0 average on the IMDB!) have probably noticed the brief moment when Gil says "Hi Cindy" to a young woman in his office. From her body language, this seems to imply that affairs might be available to Gil if he wanted them, but that he is too good a family man for that (and might not even have noticed!). This is in contrast to his boss Dave (with whom he is about to clash) and his competitor Phil Richards, who would seem to have no such hesitation. Does anyone else agree?
IMO, this is just one example of the kind of fine detail that marks great cinema—this film should not be underestimated just because it's warm family comedy!
