Do you think Rip may have cost the diner more money in damages than the two armed robbers would've managed to have stolen? Between all the broken tables, counters, shelves, dishes, and a bullet hole in the ceiling, the diner is probably looking at some pricey repairs. Not to mention the pain of cleaning up all the food Rip threw everywhere.
On a side note, thanks Netflix for adding this! I forgot how hysterically ridiculous this movie was!!

I think the more serious problem is that Rip endangered everyone in the diner by confronting the robbers. They were obviously inept and it was doubtful they wanted to hurt anyone. They more than likely would have taken the money without hurting anyone. Rip confronting them could have turned a simple armed robbery into someone's death.
