It wasn't Samuel Jackson, it was Morgan Freeman.

The bartender was Royale Johnson - or also known as Earl in the movie... they look nothing alike

now when you listen to the part with the gun, granted the pitch and sound of the voice and how words were emphasized do make it sound kind of like Sam Jackson... compare it to similar wording in say perhaps Pulp Fiction


Then go back and look at the credits at the end of the movie and note...

ADR and Voiceover Actors... Sam Jackson is listed..

So it could very well have been him in that part... but even though it may have been voiceover work.. it was supposed to be Earl and they do have similar voices... it is just that Sam Jackson is slightly more distinct and noticeable so like I say, I think during this off screen dialog, it may have very well have been Sam Jackson doing the voiceover work but the actor was still Royale Johnson
