12 Monkeys?

I watched this movie last night and it reminded me of the movie 12 Monkeys – I believe the creators used some of the concepts from Millennium in 12 Monkeys.

You're right on. Many people have "borrowed" ideas for this movie.

dkfreun, This movie couldn't have borrowed ideas from 12 Monkeys as it came out six years before. Still, 12 Monkeys is better. Millenium made me think of 12 Monkeys too.

If you read dkfreun's post more carefully, you'll find that what he said was he thought the creators of 12 Monkeys used concepts from this movie, not the other way around as you thought he said.

12 monkeys is a remake of the french movie 'la jate' from 1962

so if anything Millenium probably stole from that

reply

except that the writer, john varley, is /extremely/ outspoken on... well, everything, including plagiarism. it seems unlikely that he'd consciously steal from another work. go read some of his books, you'll find some of the most original science fiction you can imagine.
