Disappointing

I had heard about this movie for a long time, and finally saw it. It sounded great, a weird muppet movie with AIDS, sex, and violence, that plus it was directed by Jackson. BUt in the end I just felt it didn't add up. It sounded a lot more interesting and exciting than it actually was. It was actually kind of boring. Anyone with me?

I loved it the first time I saw it. It was the last Jackson-film I saw, so that's probably why it's my least favorite of his films but it's still great. Trey Parker mixed with John Waters.

I don't usually try grass

I gotta agree with you Graham. I heard so much about it and it all sounded great. When I saw the movie I found it really boring. Very disappointing.

I actually saw this movie before I even heard of it. I guess had I only read or been told about it and then saw it, I could understand being disappointed by it. Regardless, this is among my top 10. Right up there with Pink Flamingos and Freaks.

Lmao , i saw this ... geez 20 years ago (crips im gettin old) & its a classic cult film, yeah it might not be to some PJ fans taste, but i found it hilarious......Anyone got any Vicks Vapor Rub !!!!!!!! ;)

weird, I didn't think this movie came out 20 years ago. I saw it shortly after it came out. I wasn't impressed, but I did like his other cult films.

Very "not" disappointing. I saw this one for the first time in college back in 1997. I had never heard of Peter Jackson or this movie. I went in cold. I laughed so hard, I almost vomited. I think it's one of the bleakest visions I've ever seen on film. Certainly as dark as Todd Solondz. It is actually my favorite Peter Jackson film, because, in theory, it shouldn't work as well as it does.

not me. this flick is a hilarious classic.

Cool does not appeal to their demographic. They need edgy.

I'm with the original post. I found the movie bleak, boring, and depressing. I found nothing humorous. Rape, Aids, drug addiction, perversion - could be hilarious with puppetry I suppose but this was not at all it. I like edgy films but found nothing compelling or of interest herein.

I didnt find it boring at all- not even very "sick",as-I guess-many would
call it.For sure, itsnot for kids, asyou get drugs, sex, violence...but hey,
isnt that, what life is in most of its parts???
Id have called it "stunning", yes that word is ok with me!!

I love this movie. It's pure vintage Jackson...right up there with Bad Taste (still a laugh riot and always will be) and Braindead. From the long-forgotten era when loving Peter Jackson flicks meant you were into underground stuff (at least it did here in America). Now, it just means that you show up at the cinemas for the huge blockbusters. My, how things have changed in the past decade.
