Well that fire sure escalated quickly

So Bond throws a flaming beaker into a shelf, and moments later many fires are erupting all over the site, random burning rubble in the middle of empty warehouses etc. Didn't their little laboratory have any fire-proofing at all, considering they were using ridiculous amounts of gasoline?

Also, why the hell didn't someone just shoot Bond at that point?

My best guess?

Sloppy unregistered contractor work. Clearly misreading the customers instructions to use mostly non-flammable/exploding materials. I think they also did consultancy work during the construction of the boat in "The Spy Who Loved Me"

Sanchez being the business man first and a torture-enthusiast second thought that a bullet fired from a gun to the chest would be too kind for 007. So thinking quick on his feet he decided to set Bond on a journey feet first into the drug grinder as it might make him more open to conversation; Bond after all very kindly divulged that Heller was not the trustworthy type with "Stingers".

The hardened drug dealer appreciates this, thanking Bond for the advice and deciding to honour him by letting him fall to the spinning death blades whilst also being able to also spice up his product with "added MI6"...sounds pretty fancy eh?

I like your thinking. I think the real heroes of the evil-villain world aren't the 00 agents, but the contractors. They should have their own saga, carefully constructing things to have specific vulnerabilities that end up bringing down evil empires through a domino effect. They might also carefully saw into balconies for example, to allow someone to accidentally fall through them when pushed a little. Or boats, that cleanly separate when another boat hits them. Or cars even, so the slightest burning of a laser will allow the top half of the car to slide away beautifully. Thin sheets of glass that shatter easily. These guys are the real heroes, meticulously working away at things that fall apart easily, and getting none of the credit.

Indeed rabbitmoon, I'll also give special mention to those automobile companies making cars that instantly explode when they go over a cliff.
