shareI had no problem with him saying it per se. My beef is the fact that if a white character said it regarding black skin, they'd have to shut the movie down.
I didn't expect him to die at the end though. After all the crap he went through, they should have let him live. It kind of ruined the movie and made the whole shark scene more senseless than it already was.

It's offensive now. I remember a person I used to work with help me remember that the issues were truly acknowledged in the 60's. That's not a lot of time. And it does take time to change. I stopped watching the movie "Cursed" for all of the homophobia in it.
It is comforting to know that what was standard behavior can change for the better. What hasn't changed it that there will always be targets until we accept differences.
