"Just don't call me cracker"?

I don't get this line.

Beck was telling people to stop calling him 'Becky', and Dejesus called him that and then Beck said 'no harm done, just don't call me Cracker'.

Anyone get this?

He wanted his crew to see as a leader not a Boss I.E. slave owner who whips his help to do there work. So he wanted the crew to see him as a equal not a stuck up superior you now a one of the guys type of thing.

Oh and cracker is a derogatory term for a slave owners and such but I really come from some farm owner putting the ropes around his neck for plowing field in the south but many people don't know the second the real possible terminology.
