Glad no one knows!!!!

What a top flick this is. I'm glad it's a rather underground 'cult' type flick. It adds to the films aura. Check out Cynthia Nixon as Evangeline. Talk about a long, long way from the red headed harlot she was on Sex and the City!
In terms of horse racing related gambling films, this is the best of all time!
Other classic gambling movies include:
Maverick
Rounders
Harlem Nights
There are plenty of others, but im too tired to think straight.
What do you guys reckon.
Looney is the number one retard in movie history also.

YES! Roger The Longshot. Barely a 5 here but I agree it's hilarious. I love Jonathan Winter's cameo. Another under appreciated gambling movie is A Big Hand for the Little Lady

And another - 'On The Nose' (Robbie Coltrane)

What a fine (and fun) film this is. But it wasn't a hit, so not a lot of folks know about it. To me, this has some of the best parts most of the cast have played in their careers. Great dialogue--really funny in places.

I bet the producers were surprised this wasn't huge--but honestly, it's not a: dumb enough, or b: have enough sappy moments to be huge. Clever doesn't usually sell...

This is one of Siskle and Ebert's Guilty Pleasures. Sometimes a movie comes along and it juts feels 100% from beginning to end. For me what makes a good movie is it's atmosphere. The "FEEL". This movie is rich in mood. You can almost taste the stale beer, feel the humidity of the mornings sun and the smell the stench of the mens urinals. The darkness and humid feel of a BAR at 10 in the morning is depressing. But I felt I was sitting next to a friend and I wanted to place a bet too. The Characters are so real that they seem to have been living just down the street for you for years. The comic timing in this movie is flawless. The "In the head talking" of Richard Dreyfuss just adds to the brilliant script. And if you don't know anything about horse racing don't worry. Let It Ride will not leave you scratching you head about DAILY DOUBLES or TRIFECTAS. This is a smart, well written movie. See it if you have not. And then see it again. "GO FLEET DREAMS!"

I have zero interest in horse racing, but against all logic this is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time. My family & I have watched it dozens of times; we've incorporated quite a bit of the dialogue into our daily conversations. Go figure.
