did anyone else laugh when he got hit by the car? it was just so over the top and dramatic, not to mention really fake looking.

shareYes I laughed, it was hysterical! Some much needed comic relief for such a dark film. I loved the way he went flying!!

Poor Georgette! As though living as a shriekingly gay man in that macho environment was not hard enough, he had to have a death that made everyone laugh.
shareIn the book his death is more pleasant...I think he's meandering along the street, very high, enjoying looking at droplets of dew on the parked cars or something, when he gets smooshed.
But yes, the screen death is odd. It kind of looks like a bag of dark groceries goes flying up in the air, not a person.
Oh dear.

It looks more like an incredibly gay looking blow up doll in clothing flying up into the air, *beep* hilarious. He was as camp in death as he was in life
shareThere's also a scene during the riot where a guy is blown off the fence by a water cannon and takes a similarly bizarre long range flight. Not sure what's up with this stuff; if it's really supposed to be funny, then the humor is certainly misplaced and mishandled.
