As for demanding he goes through the tournament, those were the NEW rules. A competitor, previous winner or not, cannot demand what the rules of the tournament are.
Whinielle could have made a principled stand and protested the disgraceful auto-bye to the final. Even if he couldn’t change the rules he could have gone on record registering his objections publicly before the match. Whinielle - I mean Daniel - could have made that principled stand, but then we'd have to suffer through some crappy montage with equally crappy music to show him advancing through the tournament - none of which mattered at all to the plot.
The whole point of the plot was to get Whinielle - I mean Daniel - to fight Barnes. Indeed, what if he lost the semi-final round? All that effort by Silver and Kreese to defeat Daniel in the finals would be for naught.
Of course he was happy that he could enter the tournament and only have one fight...until Miyagi said he would be entering for ego this time and that he'd accomplished what he set out to accomplish already. I was thinking of taking some karate lessons. How can I sign up for your class? Is there a daily rate?
shareIt would be hard for you to train at my class for two reasons.
1) You live in another country and would find it difficult to attend the lessons.
2) Currently there are no lessons at the moment due to the venue being closed because of covid 19.
But seeing as you asked nicely, you would need to collect and fill in a form with your details including your address and any medical conditions you know of that you have and return it to the club secretary. All being well, you would then have a trial lesson. After this you would be given a licence application form (all students need this) which after deciding you would like to continue must be applied for.
The club operates on a pay as you train basis.
I’m going to sign up for your class without you knowing it’s me. Then, during a demonstration, I’m going to reveal myself and let you know what true pain feels like, right in front of all your students.

Whinielle was never in any real danger down there.. Barnes, Snake, and Dennis were just making fun of how Whinielle was so scared even though the water coming would have gently lifted Whinielle and Jessica back to the top.
