What EXACTLY was wrong with Daniel's behavior at the bar?

The scene where Rudy (Gabe Jarrett) grabs Jessica and says 'hey pretty lady, I've been watching you' Not only did he touch her -a girl he didn't even know- but Daniel tries to break it up peacefully by saying "She's with me" And the guy pushes Daniel from behind. Daniel then lays him out with one punch. Why was his girl (and perhaps the audience) so upset? I thought Daniel acted with a lot of restraint. And she should have been more appreciative of his protecting her. If it were me I'd have kicked him a couple more times while he was laying there .

And Daniel had said 'Hai'.
Followed by Jessica saying 'So why didn't you'?
And Daniel s.....ah, you know the rest, Callum.

There you go.
Now is that better than what we got?
I think so.

You missed a bit. Allow me to fill in.

Imagine the ending had been Daniel defeats Barnes and Silver says to Kreese.

Silver: Plan B
Kreese: What's Plan B ?
Silver: We frame the little bastard as a major cocaine dealer in this valley
Kreese: And the slope ?
Silver: Let's just say my wealth can buy the best hitmen
Kreese: Right, let's finish burying this little bastard (Barnes) first.....

Screen cuts to black and 5 guns shots are heard. We then cut to Daniel in prison and then to a black man with a big smile on his face.

Hmmm!
In that case was Jessica only feigning indignation. If so, and Daniel had not lashed out but had instead resolved it peacefully, then I think Jessica would have had a go at Daniel for NOT punching him out and calling him a wimp in the process. Probably something like this:
Jessica: 'Why didn't you punch that guy out'?
Daniel: 'Violence is not the answer, Jessica'.
Jessica: 'God, you're a wimp Daniel. Mike Barnes would have creamed that guy. He's a real man, unlike you'!

That is not bad. Certainly an improvement on what we got. I have a thought here though. How about instead of Barnes, the secret son (and Daniels nemesis for the movie) is Snake!
Then we have no need for Barnes.

Well they could have used Sean Kanan to play Snake and Young Avildsen could have been his mate called, oh I don't know, Tubs maybe!

Hahahaha, that's pretty damn funny

Imagine if it was Mike Barnes that hit the guy instead of Daniel Larusso he would have killed the guy in one hit.

Really?
What are you basing that on?

If those pen pushers up at city hall don't like it,well, they swivel on this middle digit!

That guy had it coming. That was one of the few good things Daniel did in this film, maybe the only good thing. That girl was the artistic type and they tend to be pacifist, so that might be why she had the shreeky reaction. Had he acted that way in the match and the pre fights vs Barnes he might have got a few good blows in himself instead of getting his ass totally kicked.
