Loved the Ancient Grail Knight...

...and his calm measured comment, "He chose....poorly." after Donovan drank from the golden chalice and slowly crumbled to dust, and later with the cave falling around him, he bids Indy good-bye with a slow final wave. His task was ended after centuries, faithful to the last, the Grail forever taken from the sight of man.

This film should have ended the series with the four heroes riding off into the sunset Indy and his father having drunk from the Grail riding also into immortality.

Funny, I was just thinking about the ending of this film earlier, specifically about how Elsa double-crosses Donovan by intentionally choosing the wrong cup for him to drink from. I have always been disappointed that she dies at the end.

This is such a great movie overall, though. And I love the lore with the Grail knight and the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword and Henry's Grail diary.

BTW, in case there is any confusion, if you want to enjoy the lasting benefits of drinking from the cup you cannot cross the seal in the cave. So while Henry Sr's wounds had been healed, he had given up immortality while going back out into the world.
