I don't like the fact that Indy wore a tie during this movie

The Last Crusade is a great movie and all, but I do prefer Raiders and Temple of Doom. One of the reasons why may seem nitpicky, but I really don't like the fact that Indy wore a tie during a lot of the movie with his classic outfit...

Whose idea was it to take Indy's outfit, and give it a tie? Really? Indy's tie starring me straight in the face kinda takes me out of it. Obviously he takes it off later, but, I REALLY don't like him wearing a tie with his outfit. I dunno, maybe that's too nitpicky. Still a great movie though, with the NO TICKET part being one of my favorites.

I LIKED BATMAN V SUPERMAN, OK?!

I think it works on some son-father level, like he's dressing up so his father doesn't give him the gears for that also.

Well besides the fact the tie was needed for the Butler scene I think it could be explained that for the first part of this movie Indy is Dr Henry Jones the professor more so than Indiana Jones the adventurer. Unlike Marion Ravenwood and Willie Scott, Elsa is an academic and perhaps Indy thought the Professor Jones persona would be more appropriate. As you said once he turns into Indy full time the tie goes and ass is kicked!

True. It is kind of uncharacteristic for him to wear a tie.

This. I'd also say that it subconsciously emphasizes that father/son thing, as the normally scruffy Indy looks a bit like a kid dressing up for [fill in the blank].

I didn't like the tie either. I was happy when he finally took it off 3/4 of the way through the movie. At least in kotcs they had the sense not to bring the tie back.

I liked Batman v Superman too!
