Closest thing to a nightmare ever made...

This isn't a great film, by any stretch of the imagination. However, it does feel very, very much like a disturbing dream, or an unsettling nightmare. It has that touch of humor, goofiness, surreal, other worldliness where something just isn't quite right. Whenever I watch this, I get the feeling that I'm in between sleeping and being awake, where sometimes the worst mini-nightmares happen.

Amazingly enough, Jenny's other movie Near Dark has that same feel. It's like a bad dream that you can't wake up from, but aren't sure you want to. It's very different, and I'm still not sure if it's good or bad, but it is definitely something unique.

That is a very good description of this film. It has to be felt more than explained. If you've ever curled up with a horror novel because you can't sleep, then you think you hear something in the next room, this film will strike a chord with you. At least it did with me.

I had very low expectations for this – really, I had no expectations because I had never heard of it – but I found it a slice above standard horror fare. I'd write more, but I think I hear something in the next room ...
