Remake

Word is that their going to remake this film...Dear god, it better be a good remake.
The only reason im a little excited about the remake is that, fingers crossed, they will release a much needed SPECIAL EDITION on the original Honey, I shrunk the Kids. How has this movie not had a special edition? It deserves it. I've always wanted to see behind the scenes footage of this movie, with the kids on set, and the large blades of grass. It must have been so much fun. Even 'Honey I blew Up The Kid' on VHS had a mini behind the scenes footage at the end of the film(and i still dont understand why they didn't transfer it over to DVD)

I hope the remake, if it happens, will encourage a Special Edition of the original, with interviews from the original cast...They've all practically vanished, so the least they can do is do interviews for the film.

It would be cool if someone who was on the crew for the movie saw this message board and told us a few bits of trivia from working on the film, stuff we may not already know.

Yeah...You should look up on youtube 'making of Honey I Shrunk The Kids'. It's a 3 part documentary that shows you behind the scenes. They show how they did the ants, bee's, the sets, the giant broom. It's really cool. I finally stumbled across it, and i dont understand why they didn't put it on the DVD. Anyway, look it up

I just hope they stay true to the original movie. You know how remakes are nowadays. What was PG-13 twenty years ago now usually falls in the PG category today.

I just hope the kids are good actors (like the original cast) and i really hope they don't over use CGI in it. I know it's going to be in 3D, so there will be some, but dont animate everything, use real sets and have the bee's and ants as animatronics as well as CGI

I wouldn't get to riled up yet. A lot of planned remakes get scrapped. This one has no writer, producer, director. It's just talk at this point.

And let's pray that is stays that way.

OBVIOUSLY

I think you have it backwards. A lot of the PG movies back then would be PG-13 today. This film however would still be PG today. I meant films like Beetle Juice and Space Balls.
