6.2, WTF?

This was a great film. Sure it wasn't the best live-action Disney film but it had some impressive special effects and the whole "shrunk down to 1/4 of an inch" theme was very cool and the acting was great compared to children's films nowadays. Why does this have a 6.2? It should be at least between a 7.0-7.5.

reply

Oh hell, I'd give it a perfect 10. But that's just me.

reply

I'd give it a 7.5 or 8.0 IMO.

I had to give it a 10. This is one of those movies we had on VHS when I was a little kid. So it was one of those movies I've seen about a thousand times. I simply have to give it a 10 out of ten. Movies like this, Home Alone, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, BeetleJuice, & Toy Story. They were a big part of my childhood. It doesn't get much more nostalgic than this, to me.

Saw this again last night.
Still a good film but i also gave it a 6 out of 10.
As its a bit dated.

It's not dated. This was when films were creative.

I'm with you on that entirely, Honey I Shrunk the Kids was one of those classic movies I grew up with as a kid. I could understand the sequel being rated a 6.2, but this one deserves much higher. The bumblebee scene and Anty are timeless.

reply

I agree...I loved this movie as a kid. One of the first movies I had on VHS.

reply

I gave it an 8/10. I really don't get the hate either.

This is another childhood movie I enjoy more as an adult. At the time, I thought it was just okay. Now, I think it's up there with Goonies.
